Biography
Sarah Jane was born about 1870. She was the daughter of Nicholas Stevens and Ann Barkla.
In 1871 Sarah was living in Williams Square, Minerva, Bersham, Denbighshire, Wales with her parents and siblings.[1]
In around 1872-1873 the family moved to the Loanhead area.
In 1881 Sarah is living at 20 Fountain Square (Back) Loanhead with her mother and a boarder who is a coal miner from England. [2]
Sarah married John Cochrane in 1887.
In 1891 Sarah was living at 20 Ramsay square Loanhead, Midlothian with her husband and son and her mother .[3]
In 1901 Sarah was living at Loanhead Midlothian with her husband and five children. [4]
She passed away in 1946.
