DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
I agree that the two seem to be the same person. The Stephenson/Stevenson family were NOT Scotch-Irish! They were originally from Scotland and migrated to Ireland & children born in Ireland were still Scottish as Ireland has no 'birthright' citizenship. And "Scotch" is a whisky not a 'race'.
Stevenson-1359 and Stevenson-1082 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be the same individual with different birth dates. I believe the birth date of 2 other sources at abt 1731 http://stephensonfamily.us/john_s_stevenson.htm
Without baptismal record from Ireland cannot be sure of either date.
