Hi! How are things going? Do you have any questions? One Month Member!

As you go farther back in your tree, it is a good idea to do a search first to see if you have a match already created on Wiki Tree before creating a new profile. And keep in mind, if you do find a match, odds are the manager is also related to that person and probably you!

There is a great question to review on G2G regarding duplicate profiles and merges. See: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/51703/behind-merges-identifying-lowest-numbered-profile-correct

A great place to ask specific question is on G2G. Under My Wiki Tree (on of the links at top right) select G2G PROFILE. You can browse/ask/answer questions. You can also "tag" them by topic. I am a mentor, so let me know if you have any questions! Nae

Hi Deb,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi! How are you? I'm Nae, a WikiTree Mentor, among other things. Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations (even an educated guess is better than nothing) attached to every person assists!

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

We also have our Help Index where you can find topics. G2G Forum is where we help each other out on different subjects. If you need help, click the link above, Nae

It has become a passionate hobby to find my ancestors. I definitely agree with the Honor Codes and 9 rules and I am willing to share any information I have with others. I joined this site to add to my research opportunities and also am a member of Ancestry.com and Family Search.org. I am looking for information on these family names: Smith (New York area) Widmark, Stevenson, Poellot, Schimke, Ecklund, Peterson from the Chicago area.
