Biography

Emma was born in 1857 at Brunkerville. She passed away in 1934 at Singleton the daughter of Matthew STEVENSON and Mercy MANWARING. Married 1886 to Henry Jonathon GARDNER. Emma was buried at Uniting cemetery Queen St [old Methodist] Singleton aged 76. Emma and Henry resided at "Glen Ray" & "Willow Glen" Carrowbrook then Redbournberry both areas of Singleton.

DEATH OF MRS H. J. GARDNER. The death occurred in Fairholme Private Hospital yesterday of Mrs Emma Gardner, wife of Mr H. J. Gardner, of Carrowbrook, at the age of 75 years. The deceased lady had been an inmate of the hospital for three weeks, but had been in failing health for some time. She was born at Mt. Vincent, but had lived practically all her life in Singleton and district. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and two daughters, viz., Harry (Redbournberry), Albert (Carrowbrook), Mrs Webb (Queensland), and Mrs Vidler (Carrowbrook). The funeral will take place tomorrow morning, leaving her son's residence, Redbournberry, at 11 o'clock for the Methodist cemetery, Singleton.
