Mother Johnson died January 5, 2002 in Marion County Medical after an illness. Born in Marion County, May 10, 1921, she was the eldest of nine children of the late Rev. Lorenzo Stevenson and the late Odessa Leonard Stevenson. Mother Johnson came to know and love the Lord at an early age. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. She joined the St. James AME Church in the St. James Community, Marion County, where she was an active member of various committees. [2]
