George Stevenson was born in County Durham, England.

George was born in Gateshead, County Durham, England, on June 9, 1896. He was the son of Benjamin Stevenson and Mary Ann Strassheim. He was baptized on June 22, 1896, in Gateshead. He was enumerated in the 1901 census as a six year old residing with his family in Gateshead. The family was living in Gateshead in 1911. George stated he was fourteen and a "Laborer Above Ground" at a Colliery.

No definitive record for a marriage found. George passed away in 1970. His death was registered in the third quarter in Gateshead.
