Biography

Susannah Steward (Stuart in some records) was born about or after 1700 in Virginia, the daughter of William Stewart and ?[1]

Susannah Steward married Michael Wilder before 12 Dec. 1721.[1]

Susannah and Michael Wilder were the parents of the following known children:[2]

  1. Sidwell/Sydweall Wildy Nash, b. 12 Dec. 1721,
  2. Jonathan Wilder, b. 18 Jan 1728/9,
  3. Rosanna Willday, b. 9 Jan. 1730/1 - died young is not in her father's will.
  4. Lydia Wildey
  5. Elizabeth Wilder Davis
  6. Sarah Wildey
  7. Susannah Wildey
  8. Mary Wildey
  9. Michael Wilder
  10. Nathaniel Wilder

Susannah Steward (Stuart) survived her husband Michael Wilder, as she is named in his will dated 1 June 1746.[3]

Susannah received additional assets from her husband's estates as cited in the following court record: "Memorandum that Susannah Wilder Rec'd 1160 pounds of Tobacco after the appraisement of her deceased husbands estate. [signed] Susannah \ sign Wilder At a court held for Lancaster county on the 20th day of March 1752 This additional Inventory was returned & ordered to be recorded."[4]

Susannah's date of death is unknown but she died sometime after 1752.
