Biography

John (Stewart) Stewart Master of Buchan is a member of Clan Stewart.
John Stewart was born about 1520 at Buchan, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the eldest son of John Stewart, 3rd Earl of Buchan John Stewart (c1498-c1551) and Lady Margaret Scrymgeour of Dudhope (daughter of James Scrymgeour, Constable of Dundee).[1]
He was styled as Master of Buchan and retained this title until 1519.[2]
He married, firstly, Lady Mary Stewart, daughter of James Stewart (1st Earl of Moray) and his wife Lady Elizabeth Campbell. He and Lady Mary Stewart were divorced on 12 September 1546. [3].[1]
Master John Stewart of Buchan married secondly to Lady Margaret Ogilvy (c1527-c1550, daughter of Walter Ogilvy of Boyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland) and they had a daughter Christian or Christina (b: 1547/48; d: 20 Sep 1580, later Countess of Buchan). [3].[1]
John Stewart, Master of Buchan, was killed at the Battle of Pinkie on the 10th of September 1547 at Musselburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.[1]
His brother, James Stewart, succeeded him as Master of Buchan in 1547. [3]

Stewart-16712 and Stewart-10560 appear to represent the same person because: dups with same parents and married twice.
