William Barham Stewart was born May 3, 1775 in Albemarle, Sussex, Virginia Colony the son of John Stewart and Lucretia (Pennington) Stewart. He was the brother of Elizabeth (Stuart) Gilliam.
William Steward moved to Georgia, marrying Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Cader Parker formerly of Nansemond Co, VA, 1782 and later Greene Co, GA. William and Elizabeth Parker Steward moved to Lowndes County, Alabama, where many of their friends and relatives had moved from Virginia, Surry and Sussex in particular. Most of their children married in Alabama before moving westward to LA, ARK, TX. [1]
William died about January 1, 1845 in Butler County, Alabama, United States.
