Biography

William Stewart was born about 1789. [1] in Edgefield which at that time was within Ninety-Six District of South Carolina. William was the child of William Stewart. [2] [3]and Sarah Stewart. William died about May 1826 leaving a Will stating that his property be divided amongst his sisters and brother as follow. viz: Alexander, Frances, Mary, Rebecca, (note that Salley has died) Destamoney, Ritta, and Patsy. He also requested that all of his property to remain together until my bother and sisters all marry and then to be equally divided amongst them. [4]
