John Stewart (6th Lord Innermeath) was born in 1562 in Innermeath, Perthshire, Scotland. He was the son of James Stewart and his wife Helen Ogilvie.
John Stewart (6th Lord Innermeath) was ennobled as the Earl of Atholl in 1596 (9th Creation).
Both titles became extinct upon the death of James Stewart, 2nd Earl of Atholl and 7th Lord Innermeath.
John Stewart passed away in 1603.
John Stewart (6th Lord Innermeath) was married to his 1st wife Margaret Lindsay.
He was then married to his 2nd wife Mary Ruthven
