Biography

Daniel Stewart Jr was born August 13, 1825 and is the son of Daniel Stewart, Sr and Rachael Huggins. Daniel grew up in Dunkard Township, Pennsylvania^[1][2] along with twelve siblings; Thomas David Stewart, Solomon M Stewart, Phoebe Stewart, Rachel Stewart, Anna Stewart, Margaret Stewart, Matilda Ann Stewart, John Elza Stewart, Jeremiah Daniel Stewart, Emaline Stewart, Ricey Stewart and George Ira Stewart.

Daniel married Rebecca Blosser November 27, 1847 and they made their home in Dunkard Township, Pennsylvania^[3][4] and Union, West Virginia^[5][6] until his death November 8, 1887.^[7] Together they had thirteen children; Mary Elizabeth Stewart, David Keener Stewart, Jemima Anne Stewart, John Thomas 'Jack' Stewart,^[8][9] Olive Rebecca Stewart, Keener Stewart, Rachel Matilda Stewart, Daniel Webster Stewart,^[10] Jeremiah M Stewart,^[11] George Ira Stewart, WIlliam M Stewart, Quinter Miller Stewart and Myrtle Bell Stewart.^[12][13][14] Daniel is buried in Eden United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stewartstown, West Virginia.^[15]

• Nieman Clan History compiled by Helen Marie (Newcomer) Maust. Aunt Helen attended most all the Nieman Family Reunions and the Frankhouser Family Reunions. She gathered information from family members who attended the Reunions over the years sharing information about family lore and updated information about each branch. Around 1980 she put information together by typewriter and created a very large document that included all of the information about the Nieman and Frankhouser clans. Both branches intertwined in various ways and trace back to the common ancestors of John Blosser who emigrated from Switzerland and was of German origin.
