Hon. Archibald Stuart of Dunearn was born in 1643 in Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland. He was the son of James (Stewart) Stuart (4th Earl of Moray) and his wife Margaret Home.

He was baptised on 28 February 1643 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.[1]

He became Governor of Stirling Castle,

He was the ancestor of the Stuarts of Dunearn.

Marriage

In 1669 Archibald Stuart of Dunearn was married to Anna Henderson [2] the daughter of Sir John Henderson (5th of Fordell) and his wife Margaret Menteith.

  • Margaret Stuart (1670 - October 1719), married firstly to Sir Archibald Stewart, 2nd Baronet, of Burray (? - 1704), and had issue, and married secondly to David Leslie, 5th Lord Lindores (? - July 1719), without issue.

Proof that Emilia is a daughter--Emilia Stuart/Stewart's grandaughter Ann Nisbet daughter of son Walter wrote in her testament “Sacred to the descendants of Archibald Nisbet Esquire of Carfin, and Emilia Stuart daughter of the Honourable Archibald Stuart of Duncearn second son of James Earl of Moray”
