Biography

Avery L. Stewart was born in June 1851 at Sullivan County, New York, USA. He appeared on the census of 5 June 1855 in the household of his parents, Clinton Stewart and Harriet Ruhama (Pelton) Stewart, at Rockland, Sullivan County, New York. He appeared on the census of 27 June 1860 in the household of his parents at Rockland, Sullivan County, New York. He and his parents appeared on the census of 7 Aug. 1870 in the household of Albert Smith and Louisa (Pelton) Smith. at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.[1] He appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 in the household of his parents at Walton, Delaware County, New York.

He married Francis Gregory circa 1885.

He was a blacksmith when he and Francis appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York. He was a laborer when he and Francis appeared on the census of 27 April 1910 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York. He was a farmer when he and Francis appeared on the census of 10 Jan. 1920 at Hancock, Delaware County, New York.[2]
