With a marriage before 10 Aug 1386, Katherine was certainly born before 10 Aug 1374.
According to both Scots Peerage and Complete Peerage: Catherine was the daughter of John Stewart, 1st of Dalswinton and Garlies[1][2] presumedly by his wife Marion Stewart.[4][5] However, those parents were said to have been contracted to marry on 17 Oct 1396 and were said to be minors at that time. John Stewart attained his majority in 1402 placing his birth circa 1381. Perhaps she was an older sister or aunt of John rather than a daughter.

The generations are too close together here. Katherine has children with birth years of 1387 and 1388, and her father and husband both with an estimated birth year of 1366.
Scots Peerage clearly says Katherine's father was John Stewart of Dalswinton, but it appears that he was not married until after she was born. This is not to say that she was of illegitimate birth but rather that she might have been his elder sister or possibly aunt. Thoughts?
Stuart-348 and Stewart-19108 appear to represent the same person because: These two have the same spouse, and children belonging to both profiles match several children listed on Balfour Paul. Catherine Stuart-348, has Aymer, second son, and Katherine Stewart-19108, has Herbert, first son. Have included source for children on both profiles.
Stuart-348 and Stewart-19108 appear to represent the same person because: Obvious Duplicate same husband etc. LNAB should be Stewart as Stuart was not used until much later.
Catherine or Katherine? both spellings are used and like Stewart and Stuart are at the whim of the cleric who recorded any name.
