Just looking at the profile for Nicholas Hutchins 1645-1729. Catherine Hutchins is clearly his child but I have her birth date closer to 1689 before Nicholas Huchins and Mary Watkins married. We know - strongly suspect - a previous wife to Mary Watkins because of their age difference AND Nicholas Hutchins denounces his marriage to a priest prior to his marriage to Mary Watkins - suggesting a previous wife that is deceased. The 1689 date of birth for Catherine Hutchins makes her also closer in age to James Stanley b. 1688 whom she marries. I have no idea the name of a first wife for Nicholas or eve where he was born - there are Nicholas Hutchins in Maryland and in Massachusetts/Connecticut - that could have migrated south. I have to admit that I have not spent the months required to try to trace him back to his place of birth or to locate a previous marriage. Catherine may have been a youngest child of a previous marriage - and others were old enough to leave behind if migrating into Virginia in the early 1700's. Do I know where I got the birth date for Catherine - no - I did not write it down. I just feel more confident it in than recording a date for her birth making her 20+ years difference in the age to James Stanley her husband.

One other detail is regarding the marriage of Mary Watkins. Nicholas dies and leaves her a widow in 1729 where it is documented that she almost immediately marries someone named Holmes and then in 1736 James Stanley appeals to the quakers for financial help in supporting his mother in law Mary Watkins Holmes who is now a widow again. Sometime after that she apparently marries Thomas Stanley, James Stanleys father. In almost all the documented trees - Mary Holmes is cited as the mother of Thomas Stanley's children - this is FALSE - the only documentation we have for the first four children of Thomas Stanley is a wife simply known as Rebecca - the children are Mary, Thomas, James and John. We have birth records for all four - but just the birth of Mary names Rebecca as the mother, the others just name Thomas as the father - but they are all born within a year or two of each other - so it is assumed that Thomas and Rebecca are the parents of all four. I don't know exactly when Rebecca died but have an other inferred Marrage to Thomas between Rebecca and Mary Holmes - to an Anne Cayce and perhaps one or two more children by that marriage - would be happy to discuss but need to pull a book - if I can find it - of the actual transcription of some of the Quaker Meeting records - not the abstract. Mary Stanley Magnuson. I am on WikiTree under Mary Stanley.

Hello, I am a descendant of (Harris-2664) Rachel (Harris) Moorman (abt. 1750 - aft. 1814). I would like to be on her trusted list if possible. I have posted on her page my list of goals for my research. Thank you. Jane
Hi Mary, since we are now co-managing Bowles-196 I would like to check with you before I write a bio with additional source citations. Any objections?

Thanks! Katie

Mary,

Due to past confusion/conflation with other men by same name, it seems wise to maintain project-protection (PPP) on this profile. But wikitree now requires that a PPP profile be co-managed with a project. Please add wikitreesoutherncolonies @ googlegroups . com (without the spaces) as a co-profile manager of this profile. Many thanks.

Well oops. You're right. I clicked on the wrong thing. Sheesh. I'm working through errors where a profile is protected but has no project account associated with it, for the US Southern Colonies Project.

Sorry Mary. I'll check my list and get back to you.

Hi Mary Elizabeth,

This was a long time ago: https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Fleming-715&diff=prev&oldid=12836145

But want to make sure you are aware that we don't want to delete information like you did there going from <ref>Source: #S210 Page: p. 355</ref> down to <ref>p. 355</ref> which loses which book it is page 355.

Thanks.

Someone else deleted the info, not me. I have fixed it.

Hello Mary Elizabeth,

The deletion was long ago in 2013 and was from your account, so unless someone else was using your login, it appears to have been your edit. I had already corrected it here and was just letting you know so you would be aware of the issue.

In your latest edit here, you accidentally removed formatting information that is helpful, so I restored it again. The double * means indented bullet, and triple star is indented twice and is intentional in that profile. For example:

  • Top level bullet
    • Second level bullet
      • Third level bullet

Please consider my request to be added to the trusted list for Henry Chiles. Collaboration is a main part of this wiki. [1] Beth

My husband is a descendant of Henry Chiles. He and I work together on genealogy but I primarily work on Wiki Tree and Ancestry and he enters data in his Access program. You appear to be active on Wiki tree so do you have some issue with adding me to the trusted list? Being a rookie member I checked the Approving Requests page [1] which states, "Trusted List requests should be approved if the person is a family member". Thanks for your consideration. Beth
