Jemima Hay Stewart was born December 16th 1844 in Goderich, Upper Canada. [1] She lived with her parents in Colborne township, Huron County, Canada West from at least 1852 to 1871. [2][3]
In 1871, she married Thomas Stevens. [4] They lived in London, Ontario. [5][6][7][8]
Jemima and Thomas joined with George Trudell, George Reid, Charles Ivey, John Dromgole and James Duffield to found the Empire Manufacturing Company in 1903. She was able to travel to England, departing Hanley, England and arriving on her return at the port of Quebec on 28 1924. [9]
Death
She died of pneumonia and old age on 17 February 1936 at 617 Wellington Street, London, Middlesex County, Ontario. [10][11]
