Research Notes

There does not seem any basis in fact for identifying the wife of David Stewart as Eupheme Lindsay. All that is known about her is that she was the daughter of Alexander Lindsay of Glenesk and his first wife, Katherine Stirling. Both Sir James Balfour Paul[1] and Douglas Richardson [2] agree that her first name is unknown. Alison Weir also acknowledges that "David married a lady whose name is not recorded."[3] Naming her "Eupheme' appears to have been completely arbitrary. Stevens-17832 19:03, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
