He married next (or firstly), Margaret Tudor[3] between 23 Mar and 2 Apr 1528.[1][2][6][7] She obtained a dissolution of their marriage in 1537 but whether this was put in effect or not, the end of their marriage was over when she died at Methven on 18 Oct 1541.[5] They had no issue[2] or at least none that survived infancy.[7]
After Margaret's death, he married his mistress Janet Stewart[2] already the mother four of his children. [5] They had issue:
Henry was still living 10 Oct 1551 when Methven was granted to him anew but died soon after[7] and was certainly dead by 9 Apr 1557,[5]
Research Notes
It is unclear whether Janet and Jean were one and the same. If so, then the marriage to teh Earl of Argyll did not take effect. If not, then she was the only child born after the marriage of the parents.
