A database that can not deal with a deletion is a dinosaur and should not be trusted. Badge collecting trolls determined to connect all the dots (regardless of accuracy!) and archaic rules like this confirm why I will never post another profile on this platform. Do whatever you want with my profiles, I no longer care. A very loooong sadddd sighhhhhh

Stinson-882 and Stinson-90 appear to represent the same person because: Stinson-90 was part of a 2011 Gedcom that was partially blown apart upon import (this happened in early, but not later Gedcoms on WT). I'm identifying and merging the profiles.
Stinson-882 and Stinson-90 are not ready to be merged because: There are no identifying locations and only 2 dates for any of the people in this little orphan tree you propose. These names are too common to assume anything. I do not agree they should be merged.

I totally agree there’s not a lot of data here. What I did was use forensic data analysis to determine that’s what the uploader (David Stephens) intended this person to represent. I did this by going back in his change log to 2011, and looking at the surrounding people. I checked to see what other Stinsons he added, and if they had more data. Some did have more data, and they were in the same area as this Samuel. I can link you to the page if you want - it's near the beginning of 2000+ contributions in 2011.

If Wikitree's database were set up differently, then the right thing to do here would be to delete this little tree of three profiles. But, the way it is set up it is preferable to merge the higher number IDs into the lower number IDs. This prevents there from being a blank spot in the database, caused by the deletions. All the data from the better, Samuel and Thomas will be kept none of that “junk" from these early profiles will be kept, except in the change logs.
