When Margaret Stockbridge was born on October 19, 1708, in Pembroke, Massachusetts, her father, Joseph, was 36, and her mother, Margaret, was 31. She married Samuel Barstow on November 26, 1731, in Hanover, Massachusetts. They had nine children in 20 years. She died on April 12, 1788, in Hanover, Massachusetts, having lived a long life of 79 years, and was buried there.[1]

In 1802, her estate was set out to her children, Samuel Barstow (eldest son), Seth Barstow, the heirs of Charles Barstow, decd., Lucy Ruggles, wife of John Ruggles, the heirs of Lydia Bailey, decd., Daniel Barstow, and Grace, wife of Elisha Foster.[15]
