3 May 1732. From Oliver Stockley, yeoman of Sussex Co., DE., to Woodman Stockley, yeoman of the same place. For 66 pounds 121 acres of land. Land is situated on the west side of Delaware Bay and on the southwest side of Loves Creek which proceeds out of Delaware bay and on the southwest side of Loves Creek which proceeds out of Rehoboth Bay and is bounded by Woolfe Pitt Branch and by land of Jno McCullah. and is part of a larger tract called Bradford's Hall which was granted to Nathaniel Bradford by virtue of a warrant from the Court of Sussex on 25 Mar 1676 and confmned to Nathaniel Bradford by letter of patent from the commissioners of Wm Penn, Esqr. By conveyance from Nathaniel Bradford and other conveyances, the land became the property of Nathaniel Racklif, dec'd. Nathaniel Racklif willed the land to his son, Nathaniel Racklif, and left his wife, Mary, as executrix of his estate. Maiy Racklif afterwards died and Woodman Stockley became administrator of her estate and Woodman Stockley found the personal estate insufficient to pay the debts petitioned the Orphans Court to sell the land at public vendue. Oliver Stockley purchased the land at public vendue. Oliver Stockley signs. Wits., John Russel, Sr., and Thomas Gray. Ack. 3 May 1732. [5]
11 Apr 1747. Deed of Gift. MARGARET STOCKLEY widow and relict of OLIVER STOCKLEY late of Suss Co deed for love and good will give to my children bom to my deed husband ... all my pt/o the estate given to me by my deed husband by his will, and also the first negroe child whieh shall be bom of the body of my negroe girl ESTHER to be delivered to them at the age of 6 years provided it shall live so long and if not, the first that shall live to that age, but supposing the said negroe should never breed or not live then the gift of the negroe shall be void further the estate to be paid to the children among them when they come to age or at the day of marriage to be given to or among them at my own discretion or as my brother BENJAMIN STOCKLEY shall think fit or according as they shall deserve, and I further give to my 2 daus SARAH and ELIZABETH 1 cow and yearling to be by them immediately possest and enjoyed with all their future increase, and I further give to my son OLIVER STOCKL one 2 year old heifer to be by him immediately possessed and enjoyed.
