Biography

At eighteen George W. Stoddard traveled to Grant County, Indiana. He married Miriam Carey Stoddard who died in 1890, leaving two children, Lee Ella Stoddard and Charles Sumner Stoddard. His friend Eli Coggshell introduced him to a school teacher, Olive Hockett, born Nov 15, 1864, whom he married on April 8, 1891 in the bride's home, West of Jonesboro, Grant County, Indiana. He passed away April 8, 1937 in Tampa, Florida.
