Biography

Increase Billings Stoddard, son of Robert and Lucy (Billings) Stoddard, was born on 22 Oct. 1767 at Groton, New London, Connecticut.[1][2]

He married Prudence Morgan.[2], who was mother of all of his children except the last listed below

Arrived in Minisink, Orange, NY abt 1799 from Preston CT where he had lived 1 yr after moving there from Groton CT in Apr 1797. The family lived in New York for the rest of his life, a state of which his wife's great-nephew Edwin (Morgan-9210) would eventually become governor and senator.

He married Anna (Loder) Smith, widow of Asahel Smith about 1816.[3]

Increase died on 15 June 1849 at Orange County, New York and was buried at Manning Cemetery, Greenville, Orange County, New York. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[2]
