Biography

He settled in Litchfield; moved thence, in 1743, to Salisbury, Connecticut, and settled on the south side of the Furnace Pond, where Harvey D. Warner lived one hundred years later. He was the second town clerk of Salisbury, and represented the town in the General Assembly at six sessions between Oct., 1757, and May, 1762. He was one of the proprietors of the first iron works erected on the outlet of Furnace Pond, about 1748. (See Judge Church's Centennial Address at Salisbury, 1841, pp. 52, 65 and 77).

He bore the military title of Ensign. His wife's name was Sarah.
