Biography

Hannah Stone, daughter of John Stone I and Anne (Rogers) Stone was born June 6, 1640 in Sudbury, Middlesex Co., Massacusetts.[1] Hannah married John Bent on July 1, 1658 in Sudbury, Middlesex. They had one known child:

Hannah Bent[2]1661 - 1705

Hannah died sometime between 1683 when she was mentioned in a deed related to the distribution of her parent's estate[3] and before the birth of John Bent (1689-1759), son of John Bent and Martha, indicating that her husband had remarried. [Note: The Bent Family states that Hannah was the mother of all three children, however the Middesex County Vital Records show Martha as the mother of the son John. Also, Hannah was probably past her child bearing years at the age of 49)[4] and is presumed to be buried in Church Hill Cemetery, Framingham, Middlesex, Massachusetts, USA.[5]

I've updated the bio to reflect that John's last two children were with his other wife. The VR support this, but also as George points out below, Hannah was probably too old to be the mother of children born in 1689 & 1691.

If Hannah died in 1684, how could John Jr. (born 1689) and David (born 1691) be her sons? Is Martha Rice actually their mother?
