Birth

CAUTION - Undocumented birth dates and places for her appear on the internet, giving her a birth date sometime between 1704 and 1711. Her place of birth is usually given as Virginia, although it has also been listed as in the Carolinas.^[1][2][3]

Estimated birth dates for Elizabeth can be made, based on the approximate birthdates of her children. Given the approximate birthdate of her oldest known child, Elizabeth could have been born as late as 1714. Based on the estimated birth of her youngest child, Elizabeth could have been born as early as 1703 or slightly earlier. An estimated date of somewhere between 1705 and 1709 makes her similar in age to her husband.

Elizabeth's place of birth is almost certainly Virginia, and may have been Essex County, where her husband was born.

Elizabeth's parents are generally accepted as being William Stone and Ann Harrison.^[4] William Stone may be one of the William Stones who was resident in Lunenburg County, Virginia in 1750, at the same time as Jason Meador and his family.^[5] Elizabeth's family may also have accompanied the Meador family's move to the Carolina's, as they are said to have become residents of the Fairfield District of South Carolina before the American Revolution.^[6]

Marriage

Elizabeth's marriage to Jason Meador probably occurred sometime around 1729 or perhaps a bit earlier, based on the estimated birth date of their oldest son Lewis.

Elizabeth would have been living in Lunenburg County, Virginia in 1750 and 1752 when her husband and oldest sons appeared on the tax lists there.^[7] And she would have moved with them to Anson County, North Carolina in the 1760s.

Death

Elizabeth is named as one of the executors in her husband's will in 1774.^[8] She is said to have died after June 1776, the reported time of Jason's death.^[9] There are reports that she died in 1778, but they lack documentation.^[10]
