Note
Note: !Most of this information came from "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia, Vol V"
(1948), p. 421, by Folks Huxford. After Civil War George moved to Coffee Co.
near the Mount Zion Baptist Church in present Atkinson County. It may be
possible that he's buried near that church, or be in their records? He
Married Mrs. Nancy Howell a young widow with one little son, Eaton H. Howell.
Apparently no one knows the maiden name of Mrs Howell, but this second
marriage, to George W. R. Stone was when she was about 18 years old. They
proceeded to have 12 known children. She died about 15 years (1893?) after him
(1878). It seems to appear that most of the children would (?) have been born
in Ware County, Georgia.
According to the book "Stone & Related Families" by Lena Belle Stone (2003), this child Julia doesn't exist. I am leaving her in however, because she was listed in Huxford's book, and I'll need to verify one way or the other.
