Biography

Mary, daughter of Simon Stone and Joane Clarke, (first of this name), was baptized in Great Bromley, Essex, England on 1 Oct 1621 (changed to 1620 in 2019 NEHGR update),[1] she died young.[2]

Research Notes

The DOD originally on this profile (25 JUN 1691 in Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts) with burial on 10 MAY 1684(?) is incorrect. Simon Stone had another daughter, Mary in 1632, and those dates may be attributable to her.

Stone-1416 and Stone-218 do not represent the same person because: Simon Stone had two daughters named Mary. The first, born in 1620, died before 1632, when Mary #2 was born. Mary2 later married Stearns.

Stone-1416 and Stone-218 appear to represent the same person because: Same exact person. Both profiles look like they have correct elements, for instance birth is sourced better in Stone-218 but spouse appears to be correctly sourced in profile-1416. Please approve and execute the merge. If you don't have time to 'do the merge' please approve and I or someone will get back to the merge for completion. I have lot's and lot's of Stone family so if you want me to do it I'm happy too :-)
Per the "Simon Stone Genealogy," printed in 1926, this Mary Stone, the second daughter of Simon and wife Joan, died at a young age in England. The FindaGrave Memorial states she died by 1631. A second Mary, 5th child, was born in Boxted, England abt. 1632 - profiled as Stone-1416. The Simon Stone Genealogy is locatable via this Wikitree website. Thanks. D. Jenkins
