Verlinda was born in 1692. Verlinda is the child of William Stone and Theodosia Wade. Verlinda passed away in 1739. [1] Harrison, Virlanda, Charles County, 4th Dec., 1739; 6th Feb., 1739/40. To sons Richard and Joseph Harrison and daus. Elizabeth and Tabitha Hoe, entire estate. Testator desires that son Joseph be of age immediately after her death and her dau. Aug 11, 1724 from Jos Harrison of CC, to Michael Shakulett "of the same parts", for 6000 lbs of tobacco paid in & by the sale of the tract of land called Cowspring as per deeds by sd Michael Shakalet & Elizabeth, his wife, duly executed & passed to sd Joseph Harrison dated the 11th instant Aug, and for divers other good causes, Harrison has sold to Shakalett all that tract of land called Tabitha's Lot in CC, Nanjemy Parish, containing & patented to the sd Joseph Harrison for about 130 acres, as by the patent dated Mar 25 last past, bounded by the south side of a great Beaver Damm that falls into Burdits Cr and near the plantation where Benoni Thomas formerly dwelt something to the northward thereof. Charles County Court Records, March 1738/9 Court, Liber T#2, Page 547 Virlinda Harrison & Richard Harrison prefer to the Court here the following petition: Mar 13, 1738/9. To the Justices of CC Court. Whereas there has been for many years past a cleared bridle path from the now dwelling Plantation of the sd Virlinda Harrison to a tract formerly laid out called Durham Town, being a place well known to some of Your Worships, of trade and commerce and constant harbor for shipping, and the sd Path leading from the sd Town to another harbor for shipping called the long Wharf, and also convenient for persons intending over Nanjemy Cr, the sd Path or Road is now so obstructed and turned by fences of sundry persons, not regarding the convenient of their neighbors and other travellers, that renders it most tedious and troublesome to pass from one harbor to the other, or else where along the river. It is therefore prayed your Worships will take it into consideration and order such relief to your petitioners and other neighboring inhabitants as to your Worships shall seem mete, on hearing of which petition, it is ordered that the Worshipful Bayne Smallwood and Capt. John Barker do inspect the premises and report to next Court.
