Captain Samuel Stone, born August 12, 1684 in Cambridge Farms (now Lexington),[1] was the son of Deacon Samuel Stone and Dorcas (Jones) Stone. He married Abigail Reed daughter of Deacon George Reed of Woburn on April 3, 1706,[2]and they had nine children.[3]
Life Events
For a few years after his marriage he lived in Concord, probably on some of the property formerly occupied by his father. About 1713 he removed from Concord to Sudbury (now Wayland), where he acquired a farm on what was known as "Pelham's Island,"
Samuel Stone was one of the early proprietors of Rutland, Mass., where he secured nearly nine hundred acres of land on which he established his sons.
About 1740 he returned from Sudbury to Lexington to take charge of the ancestral estate of his aged father to which he succeeded on the death of the latter in 1743.
He was a selectman of Lexington in 1741 and 1742, and captain of militia.[3]
Death
He died April 5, 1769 in Lexington in the 85th year of his life and was buried in the Old Burying Ground of Lexington, Massachusetts[4][3]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
