Robert wed Lucretia Coryell on 15 February 1860
in North Adams, Michigan. [2] Lucretia was born on 24 November 1840 in Hillsdale county or Jackson county, Michigan. Robert and Lucretia had at least eleven children, who are listed in the 1900 Census: [3]

Robert and Lucretia spent the first ten years or so of their married life in Michigan, where at least three of their children were born. Between 1868 and 1870 Lucretia and Robert removed from Michigan to Illinois, where eight more children were born. In 1900 Robert and Lucretia Stone are recorded together with their eleven children, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter in Rolla, Phelps county, Missouri. [4]
Lucretia died on 15 April 1909 of pneumonia. Robert Cuffman Stone died of a stroke brought on by grief on 19 April 1909. [5] Robert and Lucretia are said to have had a twin burial. They both lie buried in Rolla Cemetery. [6]
