Eliphalet Stone[1] was born in December 1735 in Middlesex County, Massachusetts Colony. He was the son of Hezekiah Stone and Ruth Howe. He passed away in February 1817 in Cheshire County, New Hampshire and is buried in Meeting House Cemetery, Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.[2]
Eliphalet married Lydia Stoddard in 1760; the intention to marry was recorded at Westborough, Massachusetts, 18 October 1760.[3]
The History of Marlborough states:
"He came to Marlborough [New Hampshire] in 1771, and purchased of his brother-in-law, Moses Goddard, a lot of and near the Stone pond, which now comprises the farm owned by Clark Hill and the one adjoinging, formerly owned by Curtis F. Hunt. He was for many years a deacon of the church. He died Feb 9, 1817. His wife died March 18, 1821." There are 10 children listed. [4]
