Biography

Lucy Story was baptized on 22 May 1743, at the Chebacco Parish Church in Ipswich in the Province of Massachusetts Bay. She was the daughter of Seth Story and Martha Low.^[1]

Lucy married Gifford Goldsmith on 25 Apr 1769, at Ipswich.^[2]

Three children were recorded as born to Lucy and Gifford Goldsmith:

• Lucy Goldsmith (b. 8 Aug 1773; bp. 15 Aug 1773, Chebacco Parish Church)
• Seth Goldsmith (b. 25 Aug 1775)
• Nehemiah Goldsmith (b. 13 Jul 1778; bp. 23 Aug 1778, Chebacco Parish Church)

Lucy died "of dropsy" after the birth of her third child, on 19 Jan 1779, at Ipswich. Her age was estimated at 36 years.^[3]
