David Stout, son of Jonathan and Rachel Burroughs, married (1) Amy Stout, daughter of Nehemiah and Rachel Stout, who died soon afterward without children and (2) Rachel Stout, sister of his first wife.
David and Rachel were the parents of:
David b Dec 20 1784 (82 yr 6 mo 2 da),[1] d Jun 3 1867, m (1) Susan Stump, (2) Sarah Thompson Parrish Oct 3 1841.[2][3][4]

Ebenezer b about 1805, m Levinah Hanna April 28 1825.
There are some who question that David is the son of Jonathan and Rachel Burroughs, however, of the authors cited above one knew the family personally and the other, who was born and raised in Hopewell, worked on the history of Hopewell until his death with individual articles about the Stout family members that lived there. Please share any sources that prove otherwise.
His family lines are:
Paternal line of David and Rebecca Ashton, David m Anne Merrill, Nehemiah Stout m Rachel, Rachel m David, widow of Amy her sister.
Maternal line of Jonathan m Anne Bollen, David Sr and Elizabeth Larrison, Jonathan m Rachel Burroughs, David m Rachel Stout.
