Biography

Jacob was a Friend (Quaker)

Jacob Stout, son of Peter and Hannah Brown Stout, born October 19 1781 married Sarah Moon November 7 1801 in Cane Creek, Orange County, North Carolina. [1] He and Mary were living with W. G. Stout, their son, in the 1850 Randolph County, NC census. [2] He died in February 1852 intestate and in the settlement of the estate all of the sons, daughters and daughter's spouses are identified as named below. The sale of real and personal property are detailed in the disposal of it and may be found here. [3]

From Find A Grave:

  • Jacob and Mary Borland Stout had 6 children. Two of those children married into the Parks family.

The Parks and Stout families must have been close because many members of both families are buried at the Parks-Stout Cemetery on the Parks homestead in Parks Crossroads. Sadly, the new land owner did not respect the graves and allowed cattle to graze in the cemetery, crushing the fragile headstone. I was able to get a few photos in 1999 but many were crumbled by the cattle.

Some of the graves at the Parks-Stout Cemetery were said to have been moved to the Parks Crossroads Christian Church but it is unclear how many or if new stones were erected.

Confirmed children of Jacob and Mary Stout are: William Gaston Stout, Malinda, Susan, Narcissa, Samuel Goodin and James Calvin.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacob by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacob:
