Virgil David Stout was born on the family farm 1.5 miles north of Rolla, Kansas. He graduated from Rolla High School. He served as a medic in the US Army during WW II. He was present when one of the concentration camps was liberated in Europe. He was in Europe from February 1945 to December 1945. He returned to Kansas at the end of December 1945. He returned to the same farm where he was born. He was a farmer all his life. He is buried in the Rolla cemetery.
