From obit - Mr. Stratton engaged in farming in his home community in Sumner county until eight years ago when he came to Nashville to enter the grocery business with his sister. Their firm, Stratton & Stratton Grocery Company Is located at Ninth and Woodland. He was widely known in Nashville and Sumner county. Mr. Stratton was the son of J. A. and Charity Elizabeth Horn Stratton.

John Armfield (Blly") Stratton, 45 native of Sumner county and prominent grocer of Nashville died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday night at his home, 903 Woodland. He was apparently in good health when stricken. and lived only a short time.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 10 o'clock at his home by the Rev. W. Henderson Barton pastor of Edgefield Baptist church of which Mr. Stratton was an active member.
Burial will be in the family cemetery in Sumner county. Mr. Stratton engaged in farming in his home community in Sumner county until eight years ago when he came to Nashville to enter the grocery business with his sister. Their firm, Stratton & Stratton Grocery Company Is located at Ninth and Woodland. He was widely known in Nashville and Sumner county. Mr. Stratton was the son of J. A. and Charity Elizabeth Horn Stratton.
