Biography

Jonathan Strong, son of Stephen Strong and Abigail Buell was born on 7 June 1741[1] in Lebanon, Connecticut.[2][3]

He married Mary Brewster,[4] daughter of Samuel Brewster and Tabitha Baldwin, about 1762.[3]

He married widow Amy (Ripley) Spaulding, daughter of Nathaniel Ripley and Anna Ripley, on 17 Feb. 1780[4] at Lebanon, Connecticut.[5]

Jonathan died[1]16 Nov. 1813 at Onandaga County, New York[3] and was buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Onondaga Hill, Onondaga County, New York. His memorial has biographical material, a photo of his monument and links to those of family members.[4]

  4. Walter Strong b. at Coventry, Dec. 10, 1766: lived and d. in Cayuga Co., N. Y., leaving no male issue.
  5. Jonathan Strong b. at Lebanon, (Ct., Nov. 10, 1768, d. Nov. 13, 1768.
  6. Mary Strong (" Polly") b. June 8, 1770, m. Dea. Elijah Phelps.
  7. Elizabeth Strong (" Betsey") b. April 17, 1772, m. Thomas Day.
  8. Eunice Strong b. Jan. 8, 1774, d. unmarried at Onondaga Hill, N. Y.
  9. Jonathan Strong b. April 6, 1777, at Lebanon. Ct.
  10. Anna Strong b. July 13, 1779, m. Benj. Rose, by whom she had a son Sidney Rose, and for a 2d husband a Mr. Hortle, by whom she had three daughters.
