She is named in her husband's 1760 will, so she died after that date.

Sarah Dickinson was born on 31 March 1706, in Adel, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, her father, John Dickinson, was 30 and her mother, Deborah Harrison, was 26. She had at least 8 sons and 8 daughters with Matthew Mashburn. She died in 1760, in Northampton, North Carolina, British Colonial America, at the age of 54.

Matthew Mashburn left a will in 1760 naming wife Sarah and 14 children. It appears that he had been married at least two times for the will made a particular command for the older sons to have a care of the youngest children. Many of his sons later migrated to Burke County.[1]

Will

In the name of god Amen, I Mathew Mashborne of the county of Northampton & Province of North Carolina, being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praise by given therefore to Almighty God, do make and ordain this my last will and testa ment in manner and forum following that is to say first: Principally i recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the merit death and passion of my Savior Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life, and my body I commend to the earth to be Decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and as touching the disposition of all temporal Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose of in manner and form as following: Item. I will that my debts and funeral charges shall be paid in full and discharged. Item. I give unto my beloved wife Sarah the bed stead and furniture belonging to it as I myself usually lay on , and my black horse named Frock and my riding saddle and my two cows and calves. Item. I give and bequeath unto my grandson James son of Samual deceased in his father stead on two year old Heffer. Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Edward , my still. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son David , one bed and furniture. Item. I give and bequeath unto my children Mary, Anne, Martha, James, Edward, Sarah, Pricilla, Elizabeth, Charity, Rachel, David, Jethro, Daniel, and William all the rest of my Estate not given out in Legacies and to be equally divided amongst them, I likewise desire my Executors to have a care and see my three young children as brought up as well and Christian like as possible in reason. I do hereby appoint my sons Mattew and James executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Matthew Mashburn, to this my last will and testament do hereunto set my hand and seal this second day July in The Year of the Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty. Hi Viola, what are your sources are Sarah's maiden name? I have Stroud ancestors (who married a Thrift), and I've located information about an Elizabeth Thrift that married William Mashburn. With the unusual name and connection, I'm hoping we might be able to figure something out. I can't track down information on Elizabeth or William . . .
