David John Stuart was born in 1831 in The City of London, England. He was the son of David Stuart and his wife Margaret Faulkner.

He was baptised on 1 January 1832 in the parish church of St Peter le Poer with St Benet Fink, London, England. ^[1]

in 1861 he was a Solicitors Clerk ^[3]

He died on 5 March 1922 in Croydon, Surrey England and was buried in the Brookwood Cemetery, Brookwood, Surrey, England.
