Pierre Stuart was born in Scotland.

He gets listed as Nicolas Stuart on baptisms of his children and Pierre on marriages of his children and his funeral.
Il est arrivé au pays comme soldat du 78ème Régiment en Pied, soit de la compagnie de Hugh Fraser[1], soit de celle de John McDonnell[2], il est présentement impossible de déterminer laquelle. Il y a deux soldats du même nom, l'autre étant Peter Stuart
Selon Marcel Fournier et al, leur mariage fut célébré par un aumônier militaire en 1773 à Rivière-du-Loup (maintenant Louiseville).[3]

- Joseph Stuard was baptized under condition 27 Mar 1774 in Rivière-du-Loup (St-Antoine) (now Louisevile) when he was about a year old, né du contrat civil (born from a civil contract) his godparents being Alexis Grinier (sic) and Louise Larichardière.
- Jean Stuart, of age, who marries Marie Élisabeth Auclair, minor daughter of Charles Auclair and of Marie Élisabeth Beseau, 26 Nov 1805 in Québec (ND), Jean listed as from Rivière-du-Loup, his mother listed as Marie Richelieu.[4]
Possible other child: Marie Louise Stuard, b 16 Feb 1777 bapt 17 Trois-Rivières, father Pierre Stuard mother Marguerite Charière. Is this Marie who married Pierre Ferron?[4]
Note: There is a Louise Larichardière who marries Alexis Hamelin in 1767. Louise has a sister named Marguerite Larichardière, but that woman marries elsewhere and dies before Pierre Stuart's spouse.
Pierre Stuart, Écossais de nation, abjure la religion protestante le 2 mars 1801 et adopte la religion catholique, le lendemain 3 il décède et est inhumé le 4 à Maskinongé, l'acte lui donne environ 70 ans.[5]

There are actually 3 Peter Stewart in Fournier's list, one is this one married to La Richardière, another is the one you created married to Morin (top of list), and the 3rd married Fraser (he was not military). You have to scroll sideways on Fournier's list to see who married who.
As far as trying to figure out which is which between the two soldiers, one in Hugh Fraser's company, the other in John McDonnell's company, both companies were in 78th regiment of foot. The only possible avenue I can think of to find which is which is to find out where these specific companies were stationed. The marriages take place in Montmagny for your man and Rivière-du-Loup (now Louiseville) for mine. Most likely they marry in the area they were stationed.
I find a Hugh Fraser (soldier) married in 1763 in Québec to Geneviève Ratté, again by military chaplain so not likely to find that record. I find a John McDonnell also married here but no mention of his being military, so not sure he fits.

Puisque ton paragraphe était en français, j'ai décidé de créer une biographie bilingue. Un de mes objectifs cet été était de trouver un format pour les biographies bilingues que je pourrai facilement enseigner à mes élèves. Je crois avoir trouvé une solution raisonnable avec les "*" et le code " " et en mettant suffisamment de détails dans les sources pour ne pas être obligé de faire deux fois les même "références en lignes".
Il y a avait des membres importants de la famille Fraser à Rivière-du-Loup et au Témiscouata. Le moulin (usine) à papier à Edmundston, NB / Madawaska, ME s'appelait autrefois le Fraser Paper Company. C'est un indice qui pourrait indiquer que Hugh Fraser était à Rivière-du-Loup sauf que je n'ai jamais croisé ce prénom dans mes recherches sur la famille Fraser dans mon travail avec mes élèves. Fraser est bien sûr un nom de famille bien commun en Écosse.
Moi quand je me lance dans les bios bilingues, je les fais séparées complètement et utilises beaucoup cet outil.
PS: sans les nowiki entre parenthèses, ça c'est pour qu'ils ne se transforment pas ici. Le système fait des drôles de choses.
