Biography

Jennett married Charles Campbell 29 January 1756 in Voluntown, Connecticut.[1]

They had 1 daughter, Jennet Campbell, born 16 Oct 1756 in Voluntown.[2]

She died around 1779, as probate took place that year. In the papers, it refers to her last hus and Charles Campbell.[3]


At the age of sixty years, Charles [Campbell] married his second wife, Jennet Kennedy, in Voluntown on January 29, 1756. They were married by the Reverend Samuel Dorrance, pastor of the first Presbyterian Church of Voluntown. Jennet Ferguson, who was born about 1714 at Charlsetown, Middlesex County, Connecticut, was the widow of John Kennedy (son of William) of Voluntown, who died in 1752. She had married John Kennedy in Voluntown on August 14, 1735. Jennet had six children by her first marriage: John, Ann, Mary, Daniel, Joseph, and Elizabeth Kennedy. Jennet was eighteen years younger than Charles at the time of their marriage, and of this union one daughter was born. Jennet Kennedy Campbell died in Voluntown, Connecticut in august of 1779.[4]
