Burleigh Francis Brownlow Stuart was born on 1 November 1868 in Bournemouth, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom.[1]
Burleigh fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902. He gained the rank of Honorary Brigadier-General in the service of the 3rd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded. He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1915. He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.
He died on 8 March 1952 in Letton Park, Blandford Forum, Dorset, England
