Andrew John Stuart (6th Earl Castle Stewart) was born on 21 December 1841. He was the son of Rev. Hon. Andrew Godfrey Stuart and Hon. Catherine Anne Wingfield.
He was with the Madras Civil Service. He succeeded to his lands and titles on 5 June 1914.
He died on 7 November 1921 at age 79 at Gledstanes Road, Kensington, London, England..[1]

He married Emma Georgiana Diana Stevens, daughter of General Arthur Stevens and Georgiana Eliza Dickson, on 23 September 1876.
