Matthew James Stuart, son of John William Stuart and Mary Ann, was born on the 16th April, 1826[1] at Greenwich and baptised on the 28th April, 1826 in the parish of St Alfedge, Greenwich, Kent, England.
1848 Marriage
Based on the fact that Nancy is synonymous with Ann we can be reasonably sure that Ann Mary Winter who married James Matthew Stuart is the right marriage.[2]
1851 Residence
On the night of the England and Wales census of 1851[3] James Stuart was at Fratten Path, Portsea Island, Portsea, Hanpshire, England with his wife and son.
