Alice was the daughter of David Hairston Stump and Harriett Edwards Stump.[1]
Alice Stump married George Gollehon June 13, 1878 in Washington County, Virginia. He was 24 years old and she was 17. [2]
1880 Census, Washington, Virginia; George 'W' Gollehon, age 27, works on farm, Alice 'D', age 18.[3]
Alice and George had four children, one of which died in infancy. Then Alice died at the age of 24 from consumption (TB), several months after her last child, Ella was born. [4]She is buried at Old Glade near her parents. Her husband remarried but also died young, at the age of 33. Their three daughters were raised by their grandparents, David & Harriet Stump.
Stone has disappeared but thought to be buried at Old Glade Cemetery
