MARRIAGES

WHITTINGHAM - SUBRITZKY - On September 26th, William Whittingham, youngest son of the late Moses Whittingham, to Evelyn, fourth daughter of J. Subritzky, shipowner, of Awanui.

Henry divorced Evelyn in 1898 when it was revealed that her fourth child (of six) was fathered by his brother, Ernest Crowther Matthews. ^[2] In 1901 Henry remarried to Evelyn's widowed sister, Elizabeth Eleanor.

Evelyn remarried to William Whittingham in 1899. She had three children to him.

She died in October 1906.
