Clarence William Suddreth, 84, of Clarkston, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1930, to Virgil and Bertha (Maquire) Suddreth in Moscow. He attended school in Moscow.
Clarence joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a military policeman from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. After he retuned home, he graduated from Kinman Business College in Spokane in 1957. He married Viola Hartung on July 28, 1957, in Lewiston. In July, they celebrated 57 years together.
Clarence was an accountant for General Mills in Spokane from 1957 to 1964, was a certified lumber grader for 31 years with Potlatch Corp. and was the Potlatch Corp. Safety Employee of the Year in 1991. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Viola of Clarkston; daughters Kimra (Kevin) Billings of Camarillo, Calif., and Kaylene (Pierre) Mercier of Anatone; foster daughter Susan (Jay) Porter of Bakersfield, Calif; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Bertha Suddreth; six sisters and one brother.
Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the LDS Church, Clarkston Second Ward, 1123 16th Ave. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial to follow at Vineland Cemetery. Bishop Joshua Harper will officiate.
