Andre Suire (1822-1892) was born March 8, 1822 in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, (before it was subdivided), the youngest child of Andre Suire and Marie Dartez. His baptism was recorded at St. John's in Vermilionville (now Lafayette).[1]
Evidently the Andre Suire who married Marguerite Touche in Abbeville, Louisiana on 11 September 1865 was his 14 year old son and namesake.[20]
Both Marguerites continued to be named on birth records with "Andre Suire."
